Designed and built in 1981 by local architect, Dennis Spencer, EARTHOUSE is crowned with a skylight that evokes the work of the great American sculptor, James Turrell. Skylights, along with strategically located the windows and doors, throughout the residence flood the subterranean spaces with natural light throughout the day, regardless of season.

The natural and artificial lighting throughout EARTHOUSE begs to display art. Aluminum art rails in the entryway, main living area, and bedrooms allow artwork to be rotated easily. EARTHOUSE.ART, a subdivision of the organization, aspires to rotate exhibitions with each solar season and is currently seeking local and international artists that wish to display their work.
